“The Suicide Brothers” To Be Released On i-Tunes In September

We have been teased by photos and videos of this short film since it begun production. Now we will finally have the pleasure of watching Keira in her role as a fairy godmother along side her boyfriend, Rupert Friend. “The Suicide Brothers” will be released on i-Tunes on September 21. I can’t wait!

P.S. I’m not sure which i-Tunes stores will carry “The Suicide Brothers” or if all of them will. The US and UK stores should definitely have it but, i’m not sure about the rest.

Fan meeting with Keira

By Tathy • Filed in: Fans

Thanks to Isabel for sending the link to a story of Keira meeting a fan while  dinning with friends in Germany. My friend Nadine was kind enough to translate some of the article for us “Two college students met her when she was having dinner with friends and that she surprisingly didn’t see the world cup final. And director David Cronenberg films ‘A Dangerous Method’ in the region with Keira and Viggo Mortenson.” Check it out a picture below:

According with Rama’s Screen the release date for “Never Let Me Go” has moved from October 1st, 2010 to September 15th, 2010. A new still was also released, and you can view it large in the gallery ;)

Click to EnlargeNEVER LET ME GO (watch the trailer) was initially set to open on October 1st, 2010 but now it’s been moved to September 15th, 2010. Starring great actors: Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield. Directed by Mark Romanek who hasn’t made a movie since the chilling yet excellent One Hour Photo, starring Robin Williams, in 2002.“Never Let Me Go” is a poignant love story, adapted from Kazuo Ishiguro’s bestselling, Booker Prize short-listed novel of the same name. As children, Ruth (Keira Knightley), Kathy (Carey Mulligan) and Tommy (Andrew Garfield), spend their childhood at a seemingly idyllic English boarding school. As they grow into young adults, they find that they have to come to terms with the strength of the love they feel for each other, while preparing themselves for the haunting reality that awaits them.

Keira Not Only Stars in Plays But Makes Them Too!

By Michaella • Filed in: Articles, Keira

So, most of you KK fans know that Keira’s mom is a playwriter… what you might not know is that Keira helps her mom come up with the ideas for the plays. I never knew this about Keira and was very excited to find out how creative Keira is!

Many of us are familiar with William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”, but very few of us know what happened next. Set in a post-apocalyptic world in the near future, “After Juliet” explores the aftermath of “Romeo and Juliet”.

With a tense truce developing between the families of the deceased lovers, history appears to repeat itself with Romeo’s best friend, Benvolio, falling in love with Juliet’s cousin, Rosaline.

The twist? Rosaline is out for revenge.

Thought up by Keira Knightley and written by her mother, Sharman Macdonald, “After Juliet” will be directed by the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts (KLPAC) resident director, Kelvin Wong.

Targeted towards a young audience, the show will consist of a cast of 11, and will be showcased at KLPAC from the July 14 to 18.

Having made his directorial debut with “Mukabuku” in 2009, Kelvin has gone on to direct a variety of shows, including Arthur Kopit’s “Oh Dad, Poor Dad” and KLPAC’s newest sketch comedy, “Indicinelive!”

Tickets are priced at RM35 for adults and RM23 for students and the disabled. Preview night (July 14) is going at RM23. Groups can also buy eight tickets and get two free (not applicable on preview night).

To purchase tickets, call 03-4047 9000 or walk in to KLPAC, The Actors Studio @ Lot 10, Axcess headquarters, its 1-Utama or Alamanda Putarajaya outlet. For more information, visit www.klpac.org.

Some more information about this play and it’s creation was found by one of our viewers. Thank you, ANonymous. Click here to read an interview of Sharman Macdonald talking about how thirteen year-old Keira thought up this play.

EW Reviews “Never Let Me Go” Trailer

Writing about Never Let Me Go in advance of the film is tricky because I’d hate to spoil the emotional impact of the story for those who haven’t read Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel by giving too much information. The new trailer does a fine job of explaining the love triangle that entangles three special students without entirely spilling the details of their unique circumstances. It is bleak and beautiful, and the casting could not be more perfect: I actually felt a chill when I saw Charlotte Rampling, who plays Miss Emily, a mysterious school administrator.
If you’ve read the book, how did the trailer make you feel? Does this film have Oscar written all over it?

P.S. Oscar!!!!! So can’t wait to see this film!
