Keira Will Not Attend TIFF But Will Attend ‘Never Let Me’ Brit Premiere
Paul from Keiraweb has been in touch with Keira’s agent, sadly Keira will not be attending the Toronto Film Festival. The good news is that she will be attending the ‘Never Let Me Go’ European premiere at the opening of the London Film Festival on October 13th.

Premieres, Appearances, & More
Details are out now of screening times at Toronto of Never Let Me Go (September 11th, 13th, 18th) and Last Night (September 18th). Keira is not on the expected attendees list, although she is expected for the London premiere in October.
ITV’s police drama The Bill is coming to an end soon, and there’s a special programme next Tuesday celebrating the show and its stars, including of course Keira in the 1995 episode Swan Song.

Director Mark Romanek Struggled to Make Keira “Unattractive”
Director MARK ROMANEK struggled to make KEIRA KNIGHTLEY look like a dowdy teen in his new film NEVER LET ME GO – because the actress looked “astonishing” throughout the shoot.
The filmmaker takes charge of the coming-of-age tale, adapted from the book by Kazuo Ishiguro, which tells the tale of three students whose world falls apart when they leave their boarding school.
The trio is played by Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield, and Romanek insists it was almost impossible to make the Pirates of the Caribbean beauty appear plain.
He tells Britain’s Daily Express, “It was difficult. She was eager and happy to do it because the role called for it. But even at her worst, Keira still looks astonishing.”

“Never Let Me Go” to Premiere at London Film Festival

A movie adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s unsettling bestseller Never Let Me Go featuring three of Britain’s brightest stars – Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield – is to open this year’s London film festival, it was announced yesterday.
It will be the second film based on an Ishiguro novel to open the festival after Merchant-Ivory’s The Remains of the Day in 1993. “It is a fantastic privilege, I feel very lucky,” Ishiguro said. “To some extent it is a showcase for British talent and it’s a tremendous honour.” Ishiguro’s 2005 novel was adapted into a screenplay by Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later) even before it was published.

Sandra Hebron, the festival’s artistic director, said the film had originality and ambition. “I’m generally disastrous at predicting what might win prizes but I would be surprised if the film doesn’t feature in the nominations.”
The film will get its European premiere at the festival on 13 October.
