Yes, thats right! The LA Times is reporting that the green dress worn by Keira in Atonement was recently sold for a whooping $35 grand! Amazing, huh? It was all for a good cause, though.
Someone recently paid $35,000 at auction for an emerald-green silk gown. It’s backless and a diminutive size 2, so we know that the stiletto-high price wasn’t pegged to the amount of fabric that went into its making.
This striking piece, worn by Keira Knightley in the film ” Atonement,” is already regarded in some quarters as on its way to becoming one of the iconic dresses in film history. Someday it could be right up there with the little black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Marilyn Monroe’s fabled white number blown heavenward in “The Seven Year Itch.”

Starz Insider: Fashion and Film video features Keira and the green dress and the influence they both had/have on fashion. You can check it out now on Starz On-Demand under “Starz Originals” or on Starz Website . I really enjoyed this documentary.

The Examiner made a list with the Top ten television/movie moments in fashion and Keira is one of them:
1. Atonement – Keira Knightley and the breathtaking emerald green dress.
2. Sex and the City – The girls in their brightly colored bridesmaid dresses at Carrie and Big’s wedding.
3. The Seven Year Itch – Marilyn Monroe in the infamous white dress.
4. Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Audrey Hepburn in her black dress, gloves, tiara and pearls. If anyone else wore all of that together, it would be overkill but Audrey pulled it off and became an icon.
5. Quantum of Solace – Olga Kurylenko in a little black dress. This may seem like an odd pick, but I couldn’t get over how great the dress looked on her. Made by Prada, the dress was cut perfectly and looked fabulous, even when it was covered with dust.

I just went out and brought my copy of this amazing film! Featured on the DVD are some deleted scenes. Two of them feature Keira’s character, Cecilia Tallis. Screen caps of these deleted scenes can now be found in our Gallery! I will try and put those two deleted scenes into our media section.
