Keira to be September Vogue Cover Girl

The fat, highly anticipated September fall fashion magazines are almost upon us. Can’t you just feel their weight in your arms right now? Vogue is taking a risk with its cover girl, Keira Knightley. Knightley last appeared on the June 2007 cover, which was the second-lowest seller of that half of the year, moving just 405,000 copies. Still, that’s a lot more than Gwyneth Paltrow’s May 2008 cover, which sold just 310,000 copies. Read the rest of this entry »

Watson to replace Knightley for Chanel

According to PR-Inside.com:

Harry Potter star Emma Watson is set to replace Keira Knightley as the face of French fashion house Chanel - signing a reported $6 million (£3 million) contract.

Knightley has been the star of the advertising campaigns for premium fragrance Coco Chanel since 2006, but the actress’s contract expires this summer (08).
And bosses at Chanel have reportedly lined up 18-year-old Watson to take Knightley’s place.

A source tells British newspaper The Mail on Sunday, “Emma has been slowly integrated into the Chanel brand. They have been dressing her for film premieres and parties over recent months to see if she is the right fit.

“Once it became clear she is growing into a beautiful young woman and wears the Chanel brand so elegantly, they had to sign her up.”

Keira in the 100 Celebrities list of Forbes

Keira is the #47 at The Celebrity 100′ Forbes list with $32 million:

Knightley is that rare actress who can rake in the big bucks from a CGI extravaganza (Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World’s End) and star in an Oscar-nominated romance film (Atonement) in the same year. She’s also cashing in with a series of racy ads for Coco Chanel Mademoiselle perfume.

Keira new movie?

According with filmofilia.com Keira will be starring a new movie: the adaptation of Shakespeare’s epic tragedy King Lear with Anthony Hopkins and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Anthony Hopkins, Keira Knightley and Gwyneth Paltrow will headline a $35m adaptation of Shakespeare’s epic tragedy King Lear.

Joshua Michael Stern, who made the upcoming Kevin Costner political comedy Swing Vote, which screens in the market here, adapted the screenplay and will direct and produce.

It is understood Paltrow will play Regan, one of Lear’s two treacherous eldest daughters who fight for the lion’s share of their father’s kingdom when he announces his abdication.

Knightley will play Cordelia, Lear’s youngest and most loyal daughter who is disowned by the king after she refuses to take part in a contest to demonstrate who loves their father the most.

Cordelia flees and marries the King of France before returning with an army to wage war against her sisters, an act that triggers the cataclysmic final sequence of events.

The producers expect to announce further casting, including the eldest daughter Goneril as well as various scheming members of the aristocracy.

Ruby Films chief Alison Owen is in talks to produce and her colleague Paul Trijbits is in talk to serve as executive producer.

Stern’s vision for the updated, live-action project is described as being epic in the vein of 300, featuring epic battle sequences and high passion.
