Keira Plans Wine-Tasting Trip to France + Buys French Estate

Following my news that Rupert Friend and Keira Knightley are planning a wine-tasting trip to the Champagne-Ardenne region of France, my spies in the south report that Keira has bought a secluded estate in Provence.

Keira, 25, and Rupert, 28, who have been dating since 2005, will count Keira’s Pirates Of The Caribbean co-star Johnny Depp and his wife Vanessa Paradis among their neighbours.

But friends of the notoriously private star say that her five-bedroom £1.9 million countryside retreat near Nice is ‘modest’ compared to Depp’s Cote d’Azur home.

‘The house is incredibly private, small and cosy and they intend to keep it that way,’ said a source.

‘Keira started moving in right after she completed her purchase earlier this summer and she and Rupert have already entertained some of their friends.

‘She is thrilled with the change of scenery and loves the feeling that she’ll always have this place to retreat to when she needs to recharge her batteries.

‘Keira is getting tired of life in London, particularly the pollution and congestion, and, although it’s essential that she and Rupert both live in London for their acting work, Keira is insisting on spending as much time as possible in France. She says it is more relaxing than she’d ever imagined.’

Keira will be heading out on a worldwide tour to promote her new sci-fi film Never Let Me Go later this year.

Keira & Kristen Stewart Going Head 2 Head For Lead Role?

Twilight stunner Kristen Stewart is reportedly to go head-to-head with Pirates of the Caribbean beauty Keira Knightley for the role of the femme fatale alongside James McAvoy in the sequel to Wanted.

“The producers feel she and James McAvoy can bring the same kind of chemistry to the project as they had on Atonement. Kristen is the other choice but it would be very much a different dynamic. One of them look certain to get the role.”

The speculation is rife with who would replace Angelina Jolie as the new hitgirl on Wanted 2.

Keira Rumored to be Covergirl of Elle March (US)

COVER CHOICES: While this year’s March fashion books feature, for the most part, the typical group of familiar faces, there are a few surprises in the mix.

Elle opted for Keira Knightley, while InStyle is betting on Anne Hathaway, one of the many A-listers in next month’s movie “Valentine’s Day.” Marie Claire also looked to “Valentine’s Day” for its cover subjects — Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel, who comes to the Hearst fashion title on the heels of a February Vogue cover.

Does this mean a new photoshoot!!!! I so hope this is true!

No ‘My Fair Lady’ For Keira!!!

Keira Knightley will not play Eliza Doolittle in the new movie version of My Fair Lady.
The Oscar-nominated actress, currently energising the London theatre scene with her stage debut in The Misanthrope at the Comedy Theatre, has withdrawn herself from consideration for the role created by Audrey Hepburn in the landmark film based on the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical.
Over a period of two years, the 24-year-old star met producers Cameron Mackintosh and Duncan Kenworthy to discuss the possibility of playing the Covent Garden flower girl who becomes a Maycould fair lady after she meets Professor Henry Higgins.

Although strongly linked with the role (she had singing lessons and sang for Mackintosh), Keira was never officially offered the part. She is believed to have felt that the project was taking too long to get off the ground.

Keira’s New Role: From Play To Film

According to the guardian.co.uk, Keira is to star in the film production of “The Talking Cure”. No word yet on the truth of this, but we will keep you updated.

Keira Knightley is to take the lead in David Cronenberg’s first film in three years, reports the Playlist blog.

The Talking Cure, based on the Christopher Hampton play of the same name, will star Knightley as Sabina Spielrein, a Russian-Jewish psychiatric patient, who is said to have inspired some of Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud’s most remarkable discoveries. Christoph Waltz and Michael Fassbender – who both featured in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds – are set to co-star, with Waltz as Freud, and Fassbender as Jung.

Hampton’s play focuses on the relationship between Spielrein and Jung, when he was treating her at the Burghölzli mental hospital near Zurich in 1904. Jung used Freudian techniques to try and overcome Spielrein’s association of paternal punishment with physical arousal.

Did Keira Pose Nude For A Painting?

This is the second nude portrai for Ms. Knightley. Keira first posed nude for Vanity Fair Magazine in 2006 with actress Scarlett Johansson and designer Tom Ford. This hasn’t been confirmed by Keira, so think of this as a rumor until otherwise stated.

Keira Knightley has posed nude for a painted portrait.

Actress Keira Knightley posed naked for a portrait by painter Mitch Griffith, and has reportedly been attending sittings at London’s Halcyon Gallery for a new exhibition.

A source said: “It’s considered a great honour to be painted by Mitch. He is a highly respected nude painter and is painting as number of subjects for a new exhibition next year. He is delighted Keira decided to take part.”

The 24-year-old actress – who is widely considered to be one of Hollywood’s most beautiful women – previously posed nude for the cover of Vanity Fair in 2006 with actress Scarlett Johansson and designer Tom Ford.

Keira is currently starring in play The Misanthrope, which is running in London’s West End theatre district.

In the production, a modern-day version of Moliere’s 17th Century comedy work, Keira plays a vacuous Hollywood starlet.

Keira Looking For An Italian Villa?

So, according to The Sunday Times, Keira is house hunting in Italy! We will have to wait and see how true this is.

Knightley was spotted in Tuscany over the summer, according to The Sunday Times. The Pirates of the Caribbean star is now believed to be looking at Italy villas.

A source told the paper that Knightley is particularly interested in properties in Tuscany. Her “hunting ground” centres on Barga in the Garfagnana valley.

No Keira in Pirates 4

The fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film is happening, with or without stars Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. With neither of these two yet on board, and director Gore Verbinski officially out of the picture, producer Jerry Bruckheimer tells HitFlix that the upcoming installment can certainly count on Johnny Depp, on whose character the entire story will be centered.

Speculation of the fourth film has been making the rounds for many months, but it’s just now that Bruckheimer is speaking out on it, revealing details on what’s next for the highly successfully franchise. From what the renowned producer is saying, it might very well just happen that “Pirates 4” will not see Knightley and Bloom back, but at least fans will be pleased to know that Captain Jack Sparrow will be taking center stage. Keira Knightley also said that she would not return to the franchise – a replacement for her, if that be the case, has not yet been announced. “Pirates 4” is said to be hitting theaters as early as 2012, more details should emerge soon.

But you won’t see her popping into the Queen Vic any time soon… the Atonement actress has plumped for a pad in arty Shoreditch. Keira and boyfriend Rupert Friend bought the £2.3m townhouse in the spring and have spent £200,000 sprucing it up.

A pal says: “Keira was fed-up of West London. She wanted to move somewhere more bohemian and arty. She fell in love with the house and can’t wait to have some dinner parties around there.”

It’s rumoured that Pitt also wanted his partner Angelina Jolie to play Cockney flower girl-turned-high society lady Eliza Doolittle, which would have been, er, interesting. In the end that role, originally played by Audrey Hepburn, went to Keira Knightley.
