Romance Simmers for Keira in Paris
articles gossip

From dailymail.co.uk

Actress Keira Knightley has moved to Paris to be closer to her boyfriend Rupert Friend.

Keira has joined actor Rupert in the French capital, where he is filming Cheri, a romantic drama in which he plays opposite Hollywood beauty Michelle Pfeiffer.

Keira was missing Rupert,’ says a friend of the actress. ‘She decided to give herself a break because last year was so busy. Rupert, however, has been working on movies back-to-back.’

There has been joking on set that she wants to keep an eye on him because he has some love scenes with Michelle but Rupert and Keira are very happy.

The couple, who have been dating since 2004, hit a rocky patch earlier this year over Rupert’s hectic work schedule.

They seem to be getting on a lot better,’ adds my source.

Keira’s cooking for him and looking after him.’ Quite the domestic goddess!

LABOUR OF LOVE

Keira and her mother Sharman MacdonaldDylan Thomas’s intense relationshpis make compelling big-screen viewing this month. Sharman Macdonald, the film’s writer and mother of one of its stars, reflects on its gestation

There’s no place like a Caribbean Island, lime daiquiri at your elbow, to begin writing a screenplay about a passionate friendship set in the London Blitz and wartime Wales. The island is St Vicent. My daughter, Keira Knightley, is shooting The Curse of The Black Pearl. She’s 17. I want her to play Caitlin Thomas, the Irish wife of the poet Dylan, in my screenplay. Not that she knows that, and she’s much too young to play her, but films can take seven years to get made. Caitlin is Keira’s part.

I’ve updated the InStyle - Haute Couture too :)

Sienna Miller talks about Keira
articles

Sienna Miller gave an interview for the new issue of Elle magazine and she talks about Keira!

… “I loved the idea of working with Keira. I was actually pretty nervous about acting alongside her because my part required me to put on weight. I just stuffed my face for the months that we were in production. It wasn’t hard for me. I had huge fry-up breakfasts, pasties for lunch and lots of toasties.

“Then I had to face seeing myself alongside Keira, who is the most beautiful woman in the world. Luckily she is also one of the nicest. We totally bonded on the movie and it was so amazing to find a girlfriend in this business. In Hollywood they don’t know what to make of us because we both drink and smoke and eat.” …

Hopkins, Paltrow, Knightley for King Lear
articles projects

More information about King Lear (Keira’s new project) was posted on eNews 2.0:

Sir Anthony Hopkins will play King Lear opposite the leading lady of the moment, Keira Knightley. The $35 million new movie was announced at the Cannes Film Festival and will feature epic battle sequences, Telegraph.co.uk reports.

It appears that Knightley, who is due to be seen in cinemas next month in the Dylan Thomas biopic “The Edge of Love”, will star as Cordelia, the youngest of Lear’s three daughters. The 23-year-old actress also stars in “The Duchess”, a lavish costume drama based on the life of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire.

Gwyneth Paltrow is to take the role of Regan, Lear’s treacherous middle daughter. His eldest daughter, Goneril, is yet to be cast. (…)

Western Mail film critic Gary Slaymaker said he was pleased Hopkins has been offered the role on the big screen.

“Hopkins, of course, started off his career in the theatre working with the likes of Laurence Olivier and there were reports he was as good or even better at great Shakespearean roles than Richard Burton whose early performances are still revered. But Hopkins was nervous about going on stage and has been much more comfortable in cinema,” he said, quoted by icWales.co.uk.

King Lear is thought to have been written between 1603 and 1606, and is considered one of Shakespeare’s greatest works. The role of King Lear has been taken on by some of the world’s best actors, such as Olivier, Ian Holm, John Gielgud, Stacey Keach, Kevin Kline and Christopher Plummer.

Keira Knightley’s Funny Seduction
articles keira

From monstersandcritics.com:

Keira Knightley says the best way to get her into bed is to make her laugh.

The actress-who stars in upcoming movie ‘The Edge of Love’, which is about Welsh poet Dylan Thomas - finds a good sense of humour very attractive in a man.

She said: “I think people get laughed into bed, don’t they?

Although Keira doesn’t think the late Dylan Thomas was a good looking man, she can understand why women were attracted to him because of his wonderful poetry.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actress - who stars opposite Matthew Rhys, who portrays Dylan, in the movie - explained to Total Film magazine: “Dylan Thomas did s**g around but you look at pictures of him and he was no hunk. However, his poetry is extraordinary. He’s a mischief-maker, a puck. He just wants to prod and see what happens.

There is a spirit and a sexiness to Matthew Rhys’ Dylan that’s quite dangerous because you know he’s a s**t. But that doesn’t mean he’s not attractive. Do you think only nice blokes get girls into bed?

Eyes on Venice as Cannes winds down
articles the duchess

From reuters.com:

With the Cannes Film Festival drawing to a close on Sunday, attention is turning toward Venice, where Ridley Scott’s “Body of Lies” is expected to be among the big-name U.S. films screening out of competition on the Lido.

More than three months before the Coen brothers’ “Burn After Reading” opens the festival on August 27, few contracts have been signed. But with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John Malkovich and Tilda Swinton likely to appear on Venice’s well-worn red carpet in conjunction with “Burn,” Venice’s paparazzi can look for “Body of Lies” stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe to join them, as well as Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes (Saul Dibb’s historical drama “The Dutchess”).

Venice’s 22-film competition lineup has been made up entirely of world premieres the past two years, and the festival is said to be looking to make it three in a row.

Spike Lee’s Italian-American co-production “Miracle at St. Anna,” a World War II film set in Tuscany, is another probable addition.

Industry players also say that “The Women,” a Mick Jagger-produced comedy starring Eva Mendes, Meg Ryan and Carrie Fisher, is a possibility. Baz Luhrmann’s adventure drama “Australia,” which stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, also could appear if it can be finished on time.

Keira Knightley’s Pout Worries
articles gossip

Keira Knightley hates her famous pout.

The ‘Atonement’ star believes her trademark facial expression makes it harder for her to convey varied emotions on the big screen.

She said: “The pout means I’m being c**p, like my face is frozen in this one look of surprise, and that’s hardly helpful for conveying complex emotions. I think I was really pouty when I was 16 or 17 and that’s when my first films came out, and it’s sort of stuck.

“When I’m nervous my neck gets really, really tense and then that pressure sort of squeezes up to my lips and they push out and well, there you go, that’s the pout.”

The 23-year-old actress admits it is her ambition to prove herself as a serious actress.

She said: “Since my first films, like ‘Bend it like Beckham’, I’ve always been looking to be stretched - it doesn’t always mean I’m going to be good, but I’m trying to be a good actress, I really am.”
